Her Royal Highness, Princess Margaret, represented Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
at Jamaica’s Independence Celebrations. Princess Margaret, on her historic
mission, officiated the ceremonies that made Jamaica the first independent state
in the Western Hemisphere during the 20th century. She was
accompanied by her husband the Earl of Snowdon and the Royal Party.
